The game’s genre had a surge in popularity with the release of Fortnite and PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), their introduction triggered an arms race which has resulted in the debut of tons of games, although both giants dominate the market for now. Both games have top spots in the list of Twitch’s top streamed games.

Fortnite is targeted towards a more casual and younger audience, and unlike its counterpart, PUBG has the option of crafting which allows you to build structures like walls, staircases and plenty of other defences.

Fortnite is available for different platform ranging from PS4, Xbox One and PC. But be warned, the game size is said to be about 9-15 GB. You will need to weigh your options and pick a suitable time for download if you are on a capped data plan, you don’t want to find yourself out of data in the first week of the month.

Fortnite is however not available for download on Steam for Mac or PC users. Instead, fans of Fortnite will need to head over to the official Epic Games site if they wish to grab a free copy of the game.

Those who are interested in the game will need to set up an Epic Game account, which will require the use of your email address.

However, be advised that you need to make sure that your system is capable of running the game before going ahead to download the game. The requirements for the game is as follows:

Though there’s no Cross-Play in Fortnite Battle Royale, there is a cross progression that exists between PS4 and PC. All you have to do is link an Epic Game account to a PS 4 account. Connecting the accounts will allow PC players to compare their progress with that of their friends using PS4.
