Samsung’s Upcoming Wireless Charger Will Juice up Two Devices at Once

A report has it that Samsung is planning to release a charger that can be able to charge two phones at once that is, a two-in-one charger for its upcoming galaxy watch and smartphones. The wireless charger duo packaging which has leaked on the internet ahead of the tech giant unpacked press conference which is slated to hold on August 9th at Barclays Centre.

The box containing the wireless charger duo reveals that it is capable of charging either two phones simultaneously (Qi-compatible) or galaxy watch and one phone. Both device placement areas support wireless fast charging.

The upcoming rumoured Note 9 will feature a 4,000mAh battery; also the tech giant has registered a brand new charger that will improve upon the already known fast wireless recharge capabilities of recent Samsung Galaxy phones. It is yet to be ascertained whether the new duo charger will be able or capable of that higher output.

It’s not a surprise that Samsung is coming up with a wireless duo charger as apple their biggest rival in the market are working on its Airpower mat, which was first announced during last September’s iPhone event. Though two-way chargers are standard, Apple has said that airpower will be able to charge three devices simultaneously – such devices are iPhone, air pods and apple watch.

Bloomberg reported in June that Apple has faced “a series of technical hurdles” in the course of the development of Airpower such as making sure that the charging mat does not overheat.

A quick reminder, Samsung’s wireless charger duo can only cover two devices at once. The tech company’s Icon X earbuds do not support wireless charging as of yet. So if you have planned to pick up the note 9 and the galaxy watch, it might prove to be a convenient accessory after all.
